In July 2023, Elizabeth Aro completed a month-long residency in Mexico.
During the final exhibition of her residency, she created a large-scale drawing inspired by the story El Huesped by Amparo Dávila. Aro produced a series of gouache drawings in bordeaux with intricate lines reminiscent of mountain contours. This culminated in a significant installation featuring approximately 60 pieces, each measuring 20 x 30 cm.
Additionally, she created two watercolour paintings of volcanoes. Throughout her residency, Aro experimented with various textures in small to medium sizes. At the end of the residency, she engaged in a discussion with a large audience of young students about her work in general.
